Arrive unfrazzled at Macy’s Holidazzle with Metro Transit

Parade-goers can forget about parking and winter driving by taking an easy ride to downtown Minneapolis on a bus or train.

Hop on a bus in your neighborhood - there are dozens of bus routes that drop you off right along Nicollet Mall. Or catch the train at a nearby station. If you don’t live near the light-rail line, park in one of the 1,800 free spaces at the Fort Snelling, 28th Avenue and Lake Street/Midtown stations and board the train there.

Finding out which route to take is easy. Use the interactive trip planner at www.metrotransit.org for instant results or call (612) 373-3333 and let a transit expert help you plan your trip.

Free rides on Dec. 8th

Macy's Holidazzle, along with Metro Transit, is offering free rides to and from the parade on Saturday, Dec. 8th. Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. all bus and train rides are free. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and lasts for 30 minutes, so attendees will have plenty of time to dine, shop and enjoy other downtown attractions.

"Metro Transit is part of the community. We're proud to be a part of this annual holiday tradition and to give families an easy – and free – evening together," said Bruce Howard, Metro Transit marketing director. Howard notes that the Dec. 8th parade will be led by a city bus decked out for the season. The Metro Transit Twinkle Bus is a custom bus illuminated with more than 20,000 lights, snowflake-covered hubcaps and inflatable snowmen waving to the crowd.
